Information to include in an enquiry

A custom red packet specification combines quantity, intended use, paper and finishing. When comparing options, first align the size, quantity and delivery requirements, then compare what each quotation includes.

  • Approximate total quantity and the number of artwork versions.
  • Finished size, or the item the envelope needs to hold and a reference sample.
  • Preferred paper, base color and texture.
  • Printed artwork and the positions of foil, embossing, raised effects or spot UV.
  • Design assistance, physical sampling, individual packing or matching materials needed.
  • Delivery destination, required arrival date and any split deliveries.

Minimum orders and cost items

Confirm minimum order conditions for the actual specification. Conditions for one design or finish should not be assumed to apply to every option. Specify the quantity for each artwork version and confirm unit prices, totals and the conditions attached to them.

Where applicable, clarify whether tooling, design, samples, packaging, taxes and shipping are included. This website does not publish a universal minimum order quantity or fixed price; the agreed quotation establishes those details.

Comparing quotations

Item Align the requirement or identify the difference
Quantity Total, quantity per design and production batches
Envelope Size, paper, weight and construction
Printing and finishes Printed areas, finish types and their positions
Approval Scope of design proofs, paper references and physical samples
Delivery Packing, transport, destination and date

A unit price alone may hide differences in scope. Keep a record of the agreed specification and update the quotation and schedule when it changes.
