What to prepare first
Send your existing logo or artwork, intended use, approximate quantity, and preferred papers and finishes. If you only have a logo, you can discuss a layout before preparing a complete envelope design.
| Item | Details to provide |
|---|---|
| Brand assets | Original logo files, brand color requirements and specified fonts |
| Wording | Company name, greetings, year and any mandatory text |
| Intended use | Corporate gifts, event handouts, weddings or gift-box sets |
| Size requirements | What the envelope needs to hold and any size reference |
| Finishes | Foil, color printing or other effects, with their positions |
Confirm files and the layout
Include editable source files if available. Screenshots can communicate a direction, but they should not be treated as production-ready artwork. Confirm accepted formats, font handling, bleed and safe margins against the selected envelope template before finalizing files.
Provide the final wording separately and check names, punctuation and dates character by character. For multilingual designs, confirm the text in each language as well as its appearance in the layout.
Identify each finishing area
For a design combining print and foil, identify which areas need a metallic effect and which should remain printed artwork. Specify the positions of spot UV, embossing or raised effects too.
If you are still choosing, see the foil stamping overview and color printing overview, then share references for the result you want.
Design proofs and physical samples
A design proof helps confirm wording, placement, artwork and the overall composition. Paper texture, reflected light and physical color should also be evaluated with paper references or an agreed sample. Confirm whether physical sampling is included, along with its cost and timing, during quotation.
Approve the design before production. If wording, size or finishing changes, reconfirm the version and delivery arrangements.
Next steps
Use the quotation checklist to organize the remaining details. For a dated event, also read the production and delivery planning guide.
